JET Karting is the Chicago Suburbs Best Karting Experience

Not your standard "bumper cars," these karts are capable of over 45 mph, evenly matched to make the driver the most crucial part of the equation. These Italian karts are true racing machines. Dice it up on Chicagolands’s best karting track. Measuring in at over a half mile long, this professional road course is designed to reward drivers for using smooth hands and a cool head. With fast sweepers, hairpin turns and elevation changes, it’s no wonder that Concept Haulers Motor Speedway in Norway, IL is a many time host of karting National Championships.

Season Pass discounts

At the banquet last year, we gave away Season Pass dicounts for the top three in season points.  If you have one, be sure to use it before the expiration on March 15.  50% off your season entries is WAY to good to let go, and there are several we haven't seen yet this spring.

And, the track is in good shape for this weekend if the weather is!

Chicago Auto Show

Our booth at the Auto Show is going well.  The effort is paying off with LOTS of new interest in the property and karting in general.  Kris and I are very happy we've done this, and we still have the second weekend to go.

More info on the Friday Night Leagues and the our Adrenaline Addict Car Show will be coming after the weekend.

Racers build the rules

There seems to be a lot of talk.  This isn’t unusual in winter, as karters balance wanting to go faster with their budget.  I thought I would share a little about how we go about adding classes – what works and what doesn’t.

Spec Racer rules update

Last season was a good one for the Spec Racer class, and 2010 is looking just as promising.  With the lessons we learned, there will be changes in the carb, header, and a new fuel tank option.

Points Racing Tire Spec

We've been asking your thoughts, reading your emails, and telling you a decision is near.  It's final.

With exceptions for Spec Racer, Kid Kart, and Shifter, we will have a Bridgestone YKC tire spec for 2010.  Our Class Structure page is updated & current. This will put us in line with the Route 66 Series, as well as many of the surrounding local tracks.

Spec Racer will continue unchanged with the MG IR compound.

Kid Kart & Shifter will have open tires.

Garage Lease renewal

Kris and I mailed out renewal letters and leases to all current garage occupants. For everyone that wants the same space again this year, just fill out the lease and send back to us.  Prices have not increased for those who single pay.  Email us if you would like to set up a payment schedule.

Facebook

Kris built a Facebook page, and we'd dig it if you'd check it out.  Click the link, or search on Facebook for JET Karting.

[update] Just found out how to change the url for the page to www.facebook.com/jetkarting
Go to www.facebook.com/usernames to do this for your account.

HPV Changes

As many of you know, the HPV is now imported and sold through Lynn Haddock rather than Horstman.  The only substantial changes are to the clutch and name.  At CHMS, we will allow either old or new clutch within guidelines.

The engine has been renamed the KOMET Piston Valve. This really doesn't affect us more than a new name for the class.

Points Race Daily Schedule

At the end of last season, looking through attendance records as well as comments from racers, we saw 'early morning practice' loosing popularity.  This season will have an increased Group Practice time, with a slightly earlier start time.
