Scribner Engine Shipping Crate
Like most racers, when shipping an engine to a buider I have used cardboard boxes. There are a lot of ways to make a box better too; box in a box, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc. But I've still worried that everything would come back without damage.
Then I saw the Engine Crate from Scribner Plastic. Instead of packing around the engine, you bolt it in. I like it.
After a phone call speaking with Chris Scribner, I ordered some crates, and some of the bodywork that they build as well. Tough products, built by racers, made in the US. I'm in.
Yesterday they showed up, so I took some photo's while packing up Becker's Yamaha to be sent off. We have more if you think they are as cool as I do...

Each engine type has a base plate. They work simiilar to the motor mount that you use on the kart.

Mount the engine with the 4 bolts through the bottom. When the plastic squeezes a little, it creates a self locking effect.

The bottom of the crate. You'll bolt the base plate to this. All hardware is included.

It was much easier to bolt up with the engine on it's side and the base off the side of the bench.

Bolted up solid. Ready for the lid.

Set the lid on, and bolt it in the corners. Print your UPS label. That's it. Now have confidence that this engine will make it to the builder and back without damage!
