2009 Changes

In the fall, we asked you, the racers, for input and ideas to make the '09 season better and smoother.  You didn't dissappoint.  There were a lot of emails, calls, and posts to tell us what could be improved, and many to tell us what was already great.

Thank you!

This is what we have come up with for 2009.  There are still some issues that we are working out, but I'm confident that you will notice a change this season for the better.  Watch this space for more updates coming.

Night Races
We will be having 4 night races. This has been a big hit in 2008, and we'd like to keep having a good time with it. For these events, practice by group will be at 4:00pm, with drivers meeting at 5:30.

Alternate Track Configurations
A large majority of races were looking for some opportunity to run a different track, while not making that the dominant configuration. We'll be hosting two events with the 'Classic' track. This will use the 'Inner Loop' and race from turn 4 to Turn 9, missing the Monza. Norway was originally built that way, so the configuration flows nicely, and is not hard on clutches or engines. Care will be given in the schedule to be sure drivers have time to prep for the new format.

TAG Rules
Following what is certainly becoming a regional standard, we will use WKA rules for the TAG class. This will be engine tech, weights, and chassis tech. Now we will be equal with Route 66, MWSS, GLSS, Man Cup, and other tracks in the area.

Spec Racer
Spec Racer will run on Saturday evenings, after the Pro Races are completed. When we run Night Races they will be another class in rotation, like the others. This allows our low cost/high performance racers to come after work on Saturday, as well as Dad's of Pro Racers to compete when the day is over.

Scales
As a very popular write in, the scales were on the wish list of many racers. We will have drive-on, four pad scales this season. This will require that you be on all pads, but will be MUCH easier to work with than it has been.

There are a couple more issues that we are working on final touches for before we release. Expect schedule and HPV pipe rules soon.
