2009 updates - part 2

Ok, here are the rest of the details many of you have been waiting for.  Schedules have been finalized with the series, and WKA has helped us out with an issue or two.  It took more time that I would have liked, but in the end all has worked out well for the racer.

Schedule
The 2009 schedule is complete and posted at the EVENTS link in the top nav. We are running 15 Pro Race events, with 4 of them night races and 2 of them running the 'Classic' track configuration. This will utilize the 'Inner Loop' and the shortcut from turn 4 to turn 9. 'Classic' track weeks have been scheduled after a week off, making it much easier to come test for them if you would like to. Napleton Porsche of Westmont is once again sponsoring the 30 lap mains, so look for big trophies and be sure to thank them. This season we are host to Midwest Sprint Series and Route 66, both of which will have great competition onsite.
Rear Bumpers
This year WKA enacted a new rule requiring full width rear bumpers for all competitors. While we very much like the safety increase of the bumper, mandating the extra expense seemed like a larger step than needed for this season. WKA graciously allowed us a one year grace period for our racers. While we HIGHLY encourage all racers to have a full rear bumper, it will not be required for our Pro Race series in 2009. Expect to need one for all regional/national events this year and in our Pro Race series for 2010.
HPV pipe
WKA has switched from the HPV-3 pipe to the HPV-4 pipe. In our questions to the racer group, we found that the overwhelming majority of you supported that move, and so we will follow WKA's lead here. The pipe for HPV will be the HPV-4 with a minimum flex length of 10 inches.

Stay tuned in the next day or two for Updates Part 3.
