Rotax critical mass

I've been wanting to get more Rotax racing here for some time.  It's difficult to get any new class going because nobody wants to be the first to jump in without knowing that others will be there to race against.  I want to push all the Rotax classes up to 'critical mass'.

Backwards practice tomorrow

Backwards practice tomorrow, the 8th, and again on the 15th.

It will be ONLY backwards practice for the day, and there will not be rentals at all.

Normal practice fees apply.  $33 drivers, $13 crew, unless you have a season pass.  All practice passes still apply.

All our barriers are up, and we're ready to go.  Hope to see you here!

Race it>> Reverse it<< Weekend

'Race it' on Saturday night under the lights forwards for season points, then we 'Reverse it' to run backwards Sunday!

There will be LOTS of TecPro barriers to keep things safe with the different runoff areas, and we'll have to highly modify the grid to keep racers and crew out of the spin-zone, but we've got plans to cover all that.  Add in some cool party plans Saturday night, and we foresee lots of grinnin' and laughin'.  Sunday's race will not count for season points.

Unsportsmanlike Behavior

We have noticed, been informed of, and been involved with some incidents that should be considered 'unsportsmanlike'.

Good sportsmanship includes elements of understanding and forgiveness. It is definitely possible to battle for position and win without disrespecting fellow racers, track staff, or spectators - either on or off the track.

Being disrespectful, disruptive, or out of control in a way that is viewed by others to be unsportsmanlike will be treated in the following manner:

Night Race weather

Ok, so the radar is not looking great at the moment, but we don't race until late.  Good thing.  Mid-day weather is wet for sure.  Evening has a chance.  If it can be done, we'll make it happen.

I'll post more updates through the day on my twitter account: www.twitter.com/jetkarting

Clone track configuration

The clone class ran the first race on the full pro track last week.  There was talk that clones would like to run the classic track, or a combination of the two tracks at times.  I asked clone racers to email me with their preferred track and preferred weight for the class.

In the past week, I've heard from just two.

Clone class

There has been a lot of behind the scenes discussion this winter about a clone class, and we are ready to announce that we will host one this season.  The advantages of the clone class are the possibility of very low startup costs and the ability to run at other tracks across the nation.  I will be finalizing the rule wording during the coming days, but wanted to share the concept that we will be using now.  The existence of the clone class will not change the hosting or intent of the Spec Racer class.

Season Pass discounts

At the banquet last year, we gave away Season Pass dicounts for the top three in season points.  If you have one, be sure to use it before the expiration on March 15.  50% off your season entries is WAY to good to let go, and there are several we haven't seen yet this spring.

And, the track is in good shape for this weekend if the weather is!
